Fuse keeps blowing

I keep blowing the same fuse. Dome/hatch/cigarette/mirror lites/locks has been blowing since I got my car back from body/paint shop. Any idea what it might be? It will work for a while and then blow. Can it be a ground somewhere. They did have door panels off at one point as well as the fenders.

Is there a way to search this out and find which wire?

i tryed to fix my fog lights in the summer, but it was way to hard. i know nothing about wires or diagrams. maybe give people on there more information, when does it blow, what do you do to make it blow? its hard to tell you what to do if when im in canada haha. next time you drive your car, pay attention to these sorts of details. the next step could be to take off the door panel and start looking for loose wires or wires that might be pulled and plugged back in

sounds more to me like a loose or broken power wire than a ground. check the back of the cigarette lighter and see if the wires are still attached to it. if not I'd start checking all of the other accessories you had mentioned one of them has to be causing the problem.

Wiring diagrams at autozone.com

click "Vehicle Repair Guides"
tell em your car, then
"Chassis Electrical"
then choose the diagrams for your year. You'll be able to trace the entire circuit with that.

A meter helps a lot.

I have a meter. I really can't tell what the conditions are that make it blow. I put a new one in tonight so tomorrow I will try to pinpoint what the conditions are and repost here.

Well I put in a 20amp and took out my cigarette lighter and the fuse has not blown in the last few days. So on my next "work on the car in the garage" day I am pulling the lighter socket to check for loose wires because when summer comes I need to use the phone charger.

Make sure there is absolutely nothing inside the socket-- anything metallic will blow the fuse everytime.
