gauges are now inaccurate

I installed new gauges in my 91 rs and now my gauges are inaccyurate I thought I had placed the needles correctly but I guess not. Any way to fix this. If i took it to a dealer to fix how much do you think it would cost?

RPMs are way off and fuel reads lower but is ok so I fuel up before I have to. I would still like to know my options..thanks ahead of time for help.

If you installed new gauges, why mess with the needles?

I do not understand why you would touch the needles at all if the gauges were new?

Get the car up to operating temp. and take needles off and move them to where you think they should be.

That could be interesting (and perhaps disastrous).

Not as disastrous as reading 100° low might be.

I agree, which is why simply guessing doesn't seem to be the best option (though some might say that the OEM gauges are so unreliable that you might as well guess anyway).

I never said guess, He said, the gauge read 100 when it should be closer to 160. If he knows that for sure then change it, that's all I'm saying. I removed my Voltmeter and my Fuel level gauge needle (another story) but using a power supply and a digital voltmeter replaced them accurately.
I'm not sure how or where to get the temp reading but if his confident he knows the correct temp then go for it.

As always, each to his own.

Temp is fairly easy. If you have a dual fan setup (tpi), let the engine idle untill the fan kicks on. Pull the temp gauge needle and place @ 220°.
If you have a single fan (tbi, v6), do the same except, when the fan kicks on, it will be 238°.

The fuel and oil gauge read 0-90ohm. Removing the harness plug from the sender and placing an inline 45ohm resistor to ground will make either gauge show half (half tank gas, 30psi oil pressure, if v8).
