4th Gen EMERENCY Wiring Problem............

Well i picked up a 2000 Camaro Dash today. I started with the splicing of the wires and got the Headlights, Dimmer, and Fog light wired.. I am needing helping if anyone knows what these wires are im describing down below.

I believe these are for my rear defrost and power trunk, can anyone chime in and tell me if im right or wrong?
Wiring is:
1)Black, Blue, Purple, Pink, Grey
2)Black, Orange, Grey, Black/White

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm also not sure what this connector is? its around the power trunk/rear defrost.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok these 4 connectors are all in the same picture.
#1 connector is circled in red, it came out of the back of the old heater, i know this is prolly where i hook up the HVAC but everywhere i look its more like 6 wires instead of 4?
#2 connector is circled in light blue, and just comes out from the firewall, any idea what these are for?
#3 connector is circled in yellow and also comes from the firewall and would like to know what its for.
#4 connector is circled in white, and comes from underneath the shifter and i have no idea where it goes, any ideas? my reverse lights dont work if that helps.
1) Brown, Orange, Yellow, Blue
2) Blue, Light Blue
3)Yellow, Brown
4) Orange, Brown

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This connector has a brown and white wires, and comes from the main harness. Anyone know what these are?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the cluster connector from the 2000 Camaro, supposedly from an LS1, does ANYONE have the info for these wires/pinouts? please

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last one, this heating stuff, do i need to take this out to get the camaro dash to fit, seems like something is stopping the dash to go further back?

on the trunk connector, you're only going to use 2 wires: orange and black/white. The other two wires are for illumination of the trunk switch and you wont need those

On the defrost switch, you won't need the gray illumination wire, thats all I know at this point.

I think the PIC #2 is something for the dimmer. Find your old dash and remove that part of the old dash and plug that part back in.

The connector is pic #3 should plug directly in to the heater controls, no need to splice anything on that connector.

The LS1 gauge cluster will not work unless you have a LS1 or dakota digiatal $80 or so converter. However, the wiring should be about the same as the LT1 cluster pinout except for 2 trouble lights, i beleive.

the heater stuff, I think leave what you have left of the thirdgen vent system in(that i see in the pic)
and cut the 4th gen ductwork and try to match up the 4th gen ductwork as good as you can by cutting it.
Then use some foam, kind of what like is under the bottom hush panels to fill in the gaps.

so the rear defrost, and the power trunk is in the first picture with the 2 connectors right?

so on the first connector i will be using black, blue, purple, and pink, and just not using the grey.

and on the 2nd connector i will be using the orange and black/white, where is the power trunk on the 4th gen dash anyway? i couldnt find it.

rear defrost and power trunk are in the first pic

sorry, i meant defrost switch connector, but yes, don't use gray wire

Power trunk should be on the panel that is below the steering wheel for 4th gen camaro years 97-02 and firebird years 93-02.

The connector with the brown and white(or gray) wires is for your top dash speaker.

use this one, should be the same for all but 2 wires. http://shbox.com/1/95_ta_cluster_pinout.jpg

I'll warn you, your tach will be off, the LS1 pcm sends out a 4 cylinder tach signal and the LS1 tach is looking for a 4 cylinder tach signal.

I had problems with the LT1 tach working directly off of the coil anyway. So, might as well get that dakota digital thing to filter the tach, and change the signal, and then your LS1 tach might work

The wire colors might be different but the functions should be the same. Give thirdgen.org member knyghtmare a PM. I think i spelled the name right. Knyghtmare has a 98-02 camaro dash installed.

ask or search around on camaroz28.com's message boards or ls1tech.com's. Best places for 4th gen info.
