Car: 85 Z28 & 86 TA
Engine: 350 Crate Motor & 305 TPI
Transmission: 5-speed & 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.23 Open End & 3.27 posi
Electronic Spark Timing Bypass Connector

1985 Z-28 Carbed LG4 5 speed

By Haynes account, there should be a tan wire with a black stripe with a single wire connector that can be disconnected so the timing can be adjusted. I (and RS Freak) cannot find this on my car. Any advice would be helpful.

I believe your '85 will have a four-wire flat connector near the distributor. Disconnect this to disable the EST.
