battery relocation pics...Drivers side rear

Does anybody have pics of the battery relocated to the rear glove box? I am wanting to do this to keep my spare and jack intact. Is there a kit availible or will I have to fab up something? Didn't SLP mount the battery here for the Firehawk? Just looking for pics and ideas.

I was hoping that someone would respond with Firehawk pics or an SLP part number.

I have mine in the drivers side compartment. I got a relocation kit from Summit made by Taylor. I had to cut two corners of the battery tray supplied with the kit to get it to sit far enough back so the plastic piece wasn't interfered with. I also had to cut down the threaded rods on the hold-down.

I gave some details on the install in this thread:

That is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. Does the battery rattle around back there or is it pretty solid? Which optima is that?

i'm glad i could help. it's mounted very solid, no wobble. It did move around a bit with just the two bottom bolts in, but the 3rd smaller one on the back lip stabilized it very well. I cut away at the tray little by little so it fit tightly into place, which i think helped reduce any movement too. It's an Optima Red Top, i don't know if the models are broken down more specifically than that.. i got the battery about 2 years ago now.

I am definitely going to mount my battery like that. I knew it was possible to move the battery to the rear and keep the spare tire.

How many cables do you have to run back to the engine compartment ? What gauge ? And well most important I guess, where do you guys run all the cables going back to the front of the car ?

This is what i did:
Optima Red top in rear, I used 4awg wire all wround. From the batter i ran 2 grounds, one to the inner wheel well and the other to the subframe under the car. I ran a power wire to a stinger 150amp cuicut braker then under the car up into the engine bay ontop of the driverside fender well. There i monted a Stinger distribution block, from that i ran other wire to the starter and on the the alternator. This is good because u can still jump the car from under the hood ( just clamp the jumper cable onto the distribution block. Where the batter was in the front, i took the ground from the block and attached it to where the batter used to set.Ill post pics as soon as I can, for all the wire, connectors, circuit braker, distribution block, etc was about $110.00
With the batter in the back you can hardly notice the delay from the batter to starter when starting, if i could do it again, id prolly use 0awg wire instead. I didnt even mount my batter either and it never moves around. The system can also be turned up more since the battery is so close, good luck on your poject!
