B&M Megashifter Help (wiring)!!!!

Would of used the search function, but it's not working at this time. I need help. I've installed the shifter, it shifts in all the replaces and what not. The problem is the car is able to start in all gears, and i also have no reverse lights. Any idea where i went wrong? I used the relay from radio shack, but i think this is where i screwed up. I heard you can run it without it, which may make life easier. Would the shifter work correctly if i just wire the blue and green wires (back up light wires) to the bottome switch, and then the yellow and purple (neutral safety switch wires) to the top like so? Thanks in advance!!! Btw, what exactly do the black and orange wires do? Adjust idle speeds at selected gears? If i don't really have to use these, it could possibly make the job a helluva alot easier.

I put a mega shifter in my 91 camaro and i did not use the relay. i dont have the diagram any longer but it should give a way, like you said before, to not use it. i installed mine without it and it works perfactly. Only starts in park or neutral, and my lights work in reverse. its not much extra info but i hope it helps.

Aite, I'll tell you how this is done, so you don't get frustrated like I did! I believe the upper switch is the reverse light switch, and the lower is the neutral saftey switch. It will be easy to tell, because on the side of the shifter the switch that hits 2 bumps, is the neutral saftey (triggers switch in park and neutral to start) and the reverse only has 1 bump on the shifter (for reverse), anyways.

The black and orange wires act as your idle speed wires, DO NOT connect them directly together, you'll blow fuses.

The light blue and green wire are your reverse lights, your purple and green wire I believe it is are your neutral saftey. Now the wires for your neutral saftety will be bigger than your other wires, so they'll be easy to identify. Hopefully this helps
