I just checked at gmpartsdirect.com and that number doesn't come up (which you already know). Now, the question is, has that number been superseded?

Question 1: did you check with a dealer? They can give you the new number (if there is one).

Question 2: If the answer to #1 is yes, can you get to a junkyard? Junkyards have cross-reference tables and should be able to tell you other vehicles that have the same part.

A junkyard part should be alot cheaper than something that you get at the dealer.

BTW, the age of the part is one of the problems. The dealers probably stopped stocking something from 1989 awhile ago.

I hope this helps.

i haven't called a dealership yet, i just googled up a search of different sites that list gm PCM#, and none are even close to that number. Its a very good chance that it did get a change in number, since this thing is 17 years old now.

Start with a dealer and go from there. I would imagine they are going to be pretty expensive from a dealer.

My computer is TPI, but its an 89 IROC, the local dealer carries the computer for it, I would imagine they would for a TBI also, they only carry reman though. Advanced carries it also, 70 bucks, 140 core, think around 100 at the dealer and whatever the core is.

For you 89 5.7L TBI Blazer, you only have 1 of 2 different ECMs. Either the 1227747 or the 1228747. On the same label that the part number is on, what's the Serv. No.? That's the type of ECM you have.

If you have the 7747 ECM (you probably do, but check first), the GM part number for it is 88999146.

ok, thats what i was looking for. that number i read fit the numbering scheme of other ecm's that i've seen. It was kinda up above the rest of the numbering, by itself. I'll take a look at the service number and see what else i find. Thanks alot.
