rough idle,or gremlin
the idle on my car seems to have a mind of it's own,it will idle fine one minute and idle up to about 2,000 rpm another if not completely die. I have replaced the I.A.C, T.P.S, distributer with all of the sensors. I have also tried switching the E.C.M and spark control module. I have also done a complete tune-up. The only code that comes up is 23 that is because my fan will not come on, i have replaced the relay, and i'm checking the wires now.
any ideas would be helpful.

My car does the same thing. It wouldn't only stall at red lights so I thought about it and disconnected 2 of the 4 brake light bulbs and it stopped stalling at red lights. I'm going to upgrade the wiring, reconnect the main wires, then check the alternator.

It seems to be something else the alt. is new and i have replaced the wireing in the engine compartment, and am currently traceing them all to make sure they are ok. someone said that a bad gasket in the TBI could do this so i'm going to replace it and see.

if you think its the gasket try sprayin some wd40 or some starting fluid around the gasket area and see if it straightens the idle up. that is one of the ways i have checked carb gaskets before, so it may work for you also

Good idea, I use the same method and it has proven very helpful.
1 thing you should be extra careful of though is to do this when the engine is cool.. I've not caused a flame up myself, but i've seen it happen several times.
