using GM ems in a Porsche 944 turbo

Hi,

Im new here, but hope to get a lot of info from you guys.

I have a porsche 944 turbo that I will be running water injection on. The stock engine management is no longer good enough (for 25-30psi of boost) and I dont have any money to go standalone.

It was recommended to me that I might be able to convert the ecm and wiring harness from a turbo sunbird to fit my purpose, because they can be hacked to use a 3 bar map sensor. I was also told that thirdgen.org had many people who could answer specific questions.

First- What years/models had this GM749 engine management? Specifically if they are 4 cylinder models that are turbocharged.

Second- Can anyone post a link or something to where I can get info about this system? I want to see what sensors I will need to replace. Most importantly, what kind of crank sensor is used?

Third- If this is an inappropriate place to post these questions please let me know, and hopefully suggest a better place. I do not have a lot of experience with GM electronics, but I have done a lot of chip burning etc with my stock computer. I think this project is do-able, but I am aware it wont be plug and play at all.

Anyone have wiring diagrams or anything like that they could share with me?

Thanks for your time!

Some more searching has revealed some controversy about using the 749 with big P&H injectors. I would be using 55lb injectors. From what I gathered this would be ok as long as I get the components from a turbo sunfire. Is this accurate? There were varying opinions.
