rewiring with painless harness
i am planning a new project since my 87 Z28 is now complete with an LT1/T56
my next project is going to be more of a drag car that will see occasional street duty
i plan on a 383 that is run on a carb and either a th350 or a th400 and a 12 bolt or a 9"
basically i am replacing all of the front suspension with a tubular k-member and LCAs along with all of unnessecary things for drag racing(AC,PS,bumper support) everything to lighten the car up
on the rear i will build a custom suspension and replace the tank with a fuel cell
but i want to keep the stock headlights and tail lights and use a painless harness to control everything since i am going to have a custom dash and going to strip the car completely and after going through the wiring of my LT1 i would rather pull everything and redo it
so how would i be able to adapt my lights and brake lights to a painless harness?

I have a Painless harness waiting for me to recuperate from back surgery before I can install it. Just going off my drug-induced fuzzy brain... I think you can just splice into the existing wiring for the lights & stuff, or you can splice into the old connector and keep the plug-in capability.
The Painless wiring is very nice - every wire labeled, etc. Get a book called "Hot Rod Wiring" - it's written by a Painless employee & talks all about their stuff!
