Car: 2001 concorde 95 silverado and of course 89 formula
Engine: 5.7 l98
Transmission: 700r4
ignition switch
. hi...trying to get junior,s 89 formula going again.... with an obvious failure in the ignition switch.. the car has cruise...power everything.... and i cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove the switch from the column.... it seems to have a cable attached to the back of it.. what the &^%$ is this for?????,,, any help in this endevour will be greatly appreciated....ty...chris.............( juniors 89 formula..5.7 L98..700 r4)....

thanks trickster,.. this certainly makes sense of the cable.......next question,,, is the parklock part of the ignition switch??? can the switch be replaced without having to disconnect the cable???... many thanks........chris

Car: 1989 Iroc-Z
Engine: 5.7L TPI
Transmission: 700R4
The cable is attached to the ignition switch only and will have to be disconnected from the back of it if you plan to replace the whole ignition switch. It is rather simple to do if you follow the instructions given. You will only have to disconnect the cable from the switch and not from the shifter assembly.
