New Comp 9000 Dist.

I have removed the LG-4 and installed a non/ecm 355 from my 1987 LG-4 Trans Am. I am about to get it fired up and I have looked at some wiring diagrams, and searched this site for the info on wiring of the factory tach. I think that I have the correct idea, but want to make sure.

On my factory wiring harness (leaving it in car) the black plug for the remote coil has the pink and white wires in it. I know that the pink wire is the + from the ingnition switch but the white wire, is for the tach right?

I can make the car run, and that is not what this post is about, I just want to try to hook the factory tach back up.

I am using a Mallory Unilite Comp 9000 with a Mallory chrome high output coil. Wiring the dist. and coil would be easy if I didn't want to retain my factory tach.
