Clearing INFLT REST lite
OK guys, just installed SLP 1 3/4 headers on a 91 z 350 and now have a Inflat rest or I think air bag light . One, what is the deal, and 2, how do I clear it. I disconnected the battery already, no good. Do I need to jumper the ALDL ports under the dash, or what. Any help would be appreciated. By the way, SLP headers are not bolt on, but that is a different post..

You probably accidently dissconnected or broke one of the wires for the system. Even if you cleared the code by disconnecting the battery the light will come back because there is still a problem.

cut wire to INFL REST light.
splice wire to window switch
next step i havent done yet:
replace words "INFL REST" with "SHIFT Baby SHIFT!" or somthing equally amusing.

That's just it. I wasn't under the dash. Only in the engine comp. and all wires are reinstalled properly. But have not checked under the dash yet, though. Also thought of removing airbag but don't know, yet. Would like nicer wheel. Thanks

Theres some wires from the air bag that run in the engine compartment. If the light came on right after you did your work theres a 90% chance that you did something to make it come on.
