Delco part numbers

Looking for a part and number? Visit www.acdelco.com Click on your country, lol. Then go to the parts catalog at the top of the page and, from the pull-down menu, click on automotive parts. Then you'll get a page to input your car's(or any car's) vitals(year, make, model, engine). After you submit that, you'll get a category list that will lead you to EVERY part for YOUR car!!! :lala:

And since this is the "Electronics" topic section, in many cases, like electrical(alternators, connectors, relays, etc.), if you click on the part number, it'll open a window with a picture of the part.

And if you don't want to buy the Delco part, at least you'll have the number for cross-referencing with other brands. You can even cross-reference right on the site, but I haven't done that.

Personally, for electrical items, I've already learned that most aftermarket/auto parts store products aren't worth it. They either don't work as effectively, or they're very short-lived. So I've gone back to purchasing the Delco products. They're simply the best, and they don't cost much, if any, more than most other brands. Besides dealers, if you search, you'll find retailers in your area who sell them.

I put this up because I see a lot of people asking what a certain part might be. I used to do that, too, and I'm sure I still will. But this site has helped me A LOT, so I thought it might help others, too. I've spent literally hours(even days, lol) on it! Shopping is so much fun!

I've used this site before but I had forgotten about the section you mentioned. One thing, the link is wrong. the ./ must be removed from the end of www.acdelco.com./

LOL! I didn't put the ./ at the end. My period is for the end of the sentence. But I guess it got sucked into the link, lol. And I don't know where the / came from. I'll correct that.

I have tried that website and the part numbers it gives me are totaly off. For example for an oil presure sender I get D1829 when the correct number is 14036243.

GM has 2 different part number systems. The 8 digit GMSPO number, and the AC Delco system. Any dealer can cross reference either number. Many common items such as O2 sensors, radiators will come packaged with BOTH numbers. The 8 digit number was strictly reserved for the dealer parts group, whereas the AC number was used for parts outlets that retail AC Delco parts such as Pep Boys etc. Either one is correct.

I tried this number on gmpartsdirect.com and it gives me a message that the part does not exist.

That site wants only 8 digit GMSPO numbers, they don't convert the retail AC Delco number. I have a parts account with my local dealer and I either call or fax over the AC Delco retail number or the 8 digit and I have never had trouble getting the correct parts. As I said most of the time they come with both numbers on the package. Example, my 89 fuel filter-package says GF481, and under that number is 25055052. See what I mean?
