wiring in '79 truck alternator
I need to know how to wire in an alternator from a 1979 chevy pick-up. I'm using the block and other accessories in my camaro right now. The only parts of the stock wiring harness left in the camaro are the ignition and the headlight wires.
The alternator has a 1 thick wire that goes to the battery and then has a 2 prong plug in it that has 1 red and 1 black wire coming out of it. The fitting on the end of the red wire looks like it should connect to the battery and the black to a ground. But when I hooked them up this way, I still get no charge from the alternator. It may be bad. But I still need to know if I'm hooking it up correctly for in the future.
edit: I figured it out....
