Foglight fuse popping when turning engine on
heres a thread w/ some background, https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...69#post1509769 not nessacery to read tho.
anyway i put some new foglights in my car. the fuse pops. i inspect all my wiring and the housings for a short. find nothing so i hook them back up. with the engine off i left the foglights on for like 15-20 minutes. everything was ok until i put the engine, which blew the 20amp foglight fuse. any ideas this has me stumped?

duh!
just kidding lol. i think i know what the problem may be. I disconnected the foglights and the fuse was still blowing, so the short has to be before either of the foglights. that pretty much just leaves the positive wire running to the lights from the relay, or the relay itself (if anyone knows of something else let me know). i checked the positive wire that goes to the foglights and it was not being grounded, so that leaves the relay. I bypassed the relay altogether with a piece of wire and the lights lit and the fuse did not blow. then i stuck the relay back in and the fuse didnt blow either. I think the coil is going bad inside the relay and is causing an intermittent short. so far, it hasnt blown the fuse again but if it does do it again i will be changing the relay.
