Aftermarket Temp Gauge

I'm trying to hook up a new Auto Meter temp gauge and I'm not quite sure how to wire it up. It says to wire it to the ignition switch. Okay, any ideas of how to do that safely and maybe some wire colors to help me out. And secondly it says to wire the light up to the dash circuit. How should I hook up the light to come on with the dash? Thanks for any help.

for ignition feed, I usually use the radio ignition power wire, and for the light, I tap into the dash light fusze in the fuse box, that way, the new light dims the same as the dash lights with the dimmer switch

Excellent, thanks for the advise. I was thinking of using the fuse box for the light. As for the radio ignition wire, I don't know why I didn't think of that. Thank you so much. Saved me some brain use.
