ecm upgrade
I am upgrading the 85 tpi to an 87 tpi ecm. I got the repining understood. The problem is the splicing the new maf relays into the computer. I don't know what to connect them to. If anyone has done this and can give me some advice, thanx.

I just don't understand what those wires are supposed to connect to. I read over the tech article several times but it is confusing towards the bottom where it says to splice. I don't know maybe I am just stupid. The repinning is easy and the simple splices (example, MAF burnoff relay and maf power relay to mas connector pin d) I understand. But the last three at the bottom; are we just connecting those two wires or what. It is just a little too confusing for me. This is my first time messing with an ecm though.

Splice C15 & D15 together using one of the pins from from them to make it a single connection and plug that in to position D16.
Do the same with the wires from D16 & D14 and plug that in to position D15
Take pins A & D on your new MAF power relay and hook them to pin D on the harness that was hooked to the MAS module.
Splice Maf Burnoff relay - pin C and MAF Burnoff relay - pin E
and MAF Pwr relay - pin E together using one of the leftover pins from the above splicing and plug that in to position B1 on the ECM harness.
Hook MAF Pwr relay - pin A to MAS connector pin F
Hook MAF Pwr relay - pin B to D3 on the ECM harness, again using one of the leftovver pins from the injector splicing.
Hook MAF Pwr relay - pin C to B2 on the ECM harness using the pin you removed from C12.
A little hint here, you don't need to put the new relays in the engine compartment. I mounted mine on the bracket that the MAS module was on, piggybacked to the ECM.
Hope this makes it a little clearer than mud
