locks unlock themselves
well, my door locks seem to be unlocking themselves. about every 30 seconds the locks unlock, hold open for about 5 seconds, and then release. wtf?? ive been jamming screws in the locks (inside the car) to physically prevent the locks from opening. this is a big seccurity issue, because everytime i get out of my car the doors unlock 30 seconds later! what can i do to fix this? the buttons to unlock/lock the doors never worked...

The same thing happened to me Trans_AM_88. For an entire day the locks kept opening and closing; it sounded like the car was possessed! I finally took it to a mechanic and of course, when the car was there, the locks were fine. But, they kept her for observation. Turns out they just straightened themselves out. The best guess was maybe some water got in there that was shorting out the wires. But, they work fine now.

It happens when water gets into the switch. My drivers side switch got ruind from the rain that way.
I replaced the switch and all is well. You can tell a bad switch just by touching it. If you don't feel anything "click" when you depress the switch but the doors unlock it's an idication of a broken switch. It WILL work but you might end up having this problem again. Usually the switchs become touch sensative they are so bad.
