Radar detector + lighter = fuse problem.. please help me

Car: 1984 Z28
Engine: 350
Transmission: T5
Radar detector + lighter = fuse problem.. please help me
heres the scoop. Before i got my alarm installed. my radar detector worked fine. Then after, i owuld plug the radar in the lighter and it would blow the Radar's fuse, not the cars fuse. the radars. as soon as i plugged it in it would blow.. Only the radar;s fuse would blow though and this isnt making any sence.... please help me.

there are alot of problems with our cig lighter plugs. do a search to find out other solutions. im sure just about everyone has had problems with their cig lighter poping all kinds of fuses. probably better off to just take it off and clean it up. or your radar detector is fuxed.

we tested the radar with a wire tester, one of those digital things, well actually my dad did... but it said that it should be ok. i dont know what the hell is wrong with my car... has anyone had this problem? and sometimes when i push the lighter in, my cd player turns off then on again realy quick.... wtf
