Checking VSS Resistance, DID A SEARCH

There are two wires that go into a T56 transmission for the VSS and I need to test the resistance of these to determine which one has a higher resistance. I know I need a digital multimeter, but how do I test these wires? Don't I need power running through them to test the resistance?

thanks in advance

nope, you don't need powering going thro them, just touch the ends for the wire its self
