scan tool for CC Q-jet?
I'm trying to get some info reagrding the CC Q-jet ECM's. I'm building a circuit that plugs into the ALDL so I can use a laptop to communicate with the ECM. I really need to find software to work with this older ECM (part# 1228079) on my L69 305HO. I've found plenty on the FI ECM's but almost nothing on the carb'd ECM's.
Who out there with a carb is using the ALDL to get info from the ECM. I want to monitor some of the parameters (O2 sensor, TPS, etc) while I tune my car. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a good one.

Sparkee,
Remember that the baud rate for communications on the older ECMs is only 160, instead of the 8192 rate of the later models. You're not going to get a lot of fresh data that way, but you'll get something.
I don't know of any scan software for them, but there must be something out there.

Actually, do a search on Ebay for 'Brainmaster'. This is a scanner made by Alldata. You can usually pick one up cheap..like $30-50. It will give you all the data you need......TPS, O2 , RPM etc.
I've used these with alot of success on CCC Q-Jet cars.

I knew that it was the lower baud rate, slow data, but still better than nothing.
I'll have to check for that "Brainmaster" and see what I can find.
Thanks for the info.
