Mystery wire/Connector

Mystery wire/Connector
Howdy all,
I just recently purchased an '84 Firebird. The other day, I was looking for a place to mount my CB radio. I took apart the passenger side dash to see what all was back there. I came across two wires that attached to a connector. The wire disapeared in to a huge wiring harness. This connector looked like it held at one time, a fuse. Would anyone have any ideas as to what this connector would be for?
Also, Anyone have any good ideas on where to mount a CB in the car? As it is right now, It sits in the passenger seat.
Thanks in advance!

I'm planning on using velcro to hold it in place under the dash or on the side of the console. Not sure yet.

Velcro for your radio? Good luck! You must have a small compact radio? My radio is pretty big. Velcro definately will not hold mine. especially constantly moving. I may just go ahead and drill holes in the dash and mount it on the passenger side.

When i mounted mine in my z-28, i just used screws.
I mounted it on the passenger side under the dash where the passenger would put there legs.
Three screws held it fine, and it was high enough that it really didn't get in the way of the passenger, unless they were a relatively big person.
Where the interior is relatively small in these cars the controlls were still pretty easy to reach.
