Who tested your battery and alternator? My Chevelle did the same thing to me. The alternator tested good, so did the battery. But after driving for about a day or so on a fresh battery the lights would dim at idle and eventually the car would just die. It turned out to be a faulty voltage regulator in the alternator. The idiot at the parts store just didn't know how to properly test it. I'm necessarily putting down anyone that tested yours, I'm just telling you about a similar problem, and what my cause was.

Thanks for the comment J, but i tested the alternator the old fashion way by pulling off one of the battery terminals and the alternator kept on running. so if the alternator kept running the the voltage regulator must be good too. i dont know?

Could be as simple as the tension of your belt on the alternator. Sounds like your alternator is going out even though your diagnosis would also lead me to believe otherwise. Also, you may have one bad cell in your battery.
