tach guage 6 cyl and 8 cyl???

tach guage 6 cyl and 8 cyl???

Will a tach from an 87 firebird with a V8 work in an 87 firebird with a V6???

As an FYI for anyone that cares, I've done some digging on the 90-92 Camaro tachs (the backlit yellow ones) and I don't see any difference between them except the red line on the front plate and the little chip that sits in the corner of the instrument cluster. I will find out very shortly if you can make a v6 tach work on a v8 just by swapping the little chip.

It's possible something similar exists for the newer firebird clusters too; that's why I mentioned it.
