just tried replacing power antenna, oh boy...
after taking off the wheel, the inner splash shield, cutting the power antenna power\ground\remote wires, and coaxoal cable, broke the actual antenna part off the old one so that i could get it out. i realized this was gonna be a pain in the *** . i had one of those antennas that u get at autozone, and well, it didn't fit, it wasn't long enough for one thing, the motor kept getting in the way, so it wouldn't get high enough, it came with 2105409548945291054984010 peices, none of which i had any clue what it was used for, and the half page instructions didn't help any. needless to say that part ended up broken (i didn't pay for it, got it from my uncle when i i brought the car from him). well if anyone has any tips or any brands that WILL work plz let me know.
well i just looked at the package, and at the top it says Universal, i thought they made these things specifical for GM cars also? guess im going to auto zone again for 5 diff things tomorrow.
how much are these things at the dealership?
and my luck gets worse
TRUNK LID PULL DOWN MOTOR $349
HEADLAMP ACTUATOR MOTOR $163 EACH
DOOR LOCK MOTOR $41 EACH, need both
guess im going to the junkyard then..

I would say that you will have the best luck if you just bite the bullet and put a regular solid mast antenna in there......... might not be what you want to hear, but there it is.....................
Good Luck

id rather go the route of invisible antenna, and when i get the car repainted, find some way to cover the hole.. going to the junkyard soon though.
