Car throws codes after gauge power is disconnected!
This entire question is, of course, one of those theoretical posts. Anyhow, If I were to rig up some sort of switch that'll cut power to the gauge cluster, and if, after turning the power "off", why does my SES come on after turning it back on. This theoretical switch would be located right after the gauge power fuse. TIA.

In addition to cluster power, the gauges fuse supplies power to many of the ECM controlled solenoid valves, as well.
