Tach and temp gauge
My Tachometer is out of whack. It works but its like 2,000RPM's higher than where it should be. My tempertature gague doesn't seem to work either. What's the problem and how can I fix it? Would getting new gauges fix the problem or are the senders screwed up? The Engine was swapped from a 305 TPI to a 350 TPI by the guy who owned the car before me. Does this impact the Tach at all?

Dont know if you tried this one yet....but on the driver side of the engine up near the first spark plug there should be a wire hooked up to a little mettle prong on the engine block. This controls the TEMP sensor. If that is off....there is the problem. I have/had the same problem with mine 89 camaro. When I first bought the car the Tack would goo loopy. They had to put a new Tach in for me. And well my temp still isnt working but I have narrowed it down to the tack is just13 years old and it is broke. Hope this helps some whut
