Electronic AC Controls???
Are the AC controls controlled by opening and closing vaccuum lines? Couldnt a circuit board with small solenoid valves on it be rigged up so that you can press a button to open and close the valves? Just throwing an idea out here.... I've got a guy up here at work with an EE degree that may be able to help me out with a project like this.

That's more or less how they work. One of my old friends who owned an '87 GTA had a factory electronic type climate control, it was all pushbuttons instead of the manual levers. I've never seen what makes those work, but I imagine it's along the same lines of what you're thinking.

Digital dash Berlinettas ('84 - '86) also had electronic A/C controls. The vacuum operated damper actuators are controlled by 12 volt solenoid valves mounted to a PC board, which are controlled by the electronic A/C control pod.

Anyone have one of these units laying around collecting dust? Or even the part numbers and manufacturer of the solenoid valves. I've never seen the digital AC controls from a berlinetta, but I am sure they are not very pretty! If anyone knows where to get one of those, please let me know! Thanks!

John in Rhode Island (berlinetta@prodigy.net) has a bunch of Berlinetta parts for sale. He probably has a solenoid module laying around. If not, try some local junk yards, since the solenoid module has been discontinued by GM, if I remember correctly. You can power the 12 volt solenoids with any configuration of switches - you should not need the Berlinetta A/C control head to use the solenoids to control the vacuum operated HVAC dampers.
