GM TPI Harness Install
Converting a 88 305 (E)TBI thirdgen to a 91 350 TPI. I have the complete GM factory harness off of the 91 TPI. Does anyone know if there is a difference between the two harnesses were it bolts into the firewall below the brake booster. Can I simply plug it in and go? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

I'll post a pict of a '92 (should be the same as a '91) and an '87 bulkhead connector pinout on Monday. You will need to either get a Helm shop manual for your '88, or use an ohm meter to check the pinout of the '88 connector. The '91 is different from the '88 in that it has three SIR (air bag sensor) connections, and two VSS connections (unless you have a digital dash).

The actually "engine" harness goes through the body behind the passenger fender. Once you get the harness under the dash, then you will have some wire moving to do.
