Shaved Door Handles w/ Remote Door Poppers
How do you do this? I know that the handles need to be taken off & the key entry hole & then filled w/ bondo but how can it be done to a Firebird like mine that does not have Power Locks? Thanx & sure hope someone there has done it so they can guide me in the right direction when I decide to do this. Thanx

You don't need power locks to shave your handles. The solenoid connects to the lever that pulls the mechanism to release the latch. If you take your door panel off and follow the rod that is connected to your door handle, you will see the lever that it is connected to.It should have another eyelet where you can connect the solenoid to to pull that same lever down to unlatch the door. Mounting the solenoid straight up and down inside the bottom corner of the door under the latch is probably the best place for our doors.I've done probably about a dozen shaved kits for f-bods,and a few more for other cars,so if you have any more questions, just e-mail me.
P.S- It's better to have sheetmetal welded in place of the door handles and lock cylinders instead of bondo.

What kind of solinoid do we need? How much effort? Also why not use sheet metal for both the locking mechanism and handle then bondo? I know the poppers are only $5 each and I have a remote with 4 extra channels and I'd like to just get the solinoid so where and which? I have the relays etc.
