This is a pic of Tim Burgess with his 1992 Z28. Although his car looks blue, it is actually Dark Teal, the only year the Z28 was available in this color.

Tim's full-time job is working on his car, making it as fast as possible while retaining it's original appearance. How's a 12.07 for a 305 sound? His hobby is working as an electrical engineer at Raytheon Missile Systems. Yep, he designs circuitry on missiles that are shot by the military!! What a hobby!! Here he is in action:

This pic was taken at Famoso International Dragway during the 1999 Thirdgen.org West Coast Gathering. Tim took seven of nine awards with his car. The two he didn't win were for Firebirds!!

And now that you've all met our illustrious leader, I have a question no one seems to be able to answer. With all accessories running, i.e. A/C, wipers, brights, cruise, rear electric defroster, etc., what is the total current draw on the vehicle electrical system? Is a 105-ampere alternator sufficient?

I have measured the output af my 105 amp alt with everything on and found the entire car pulled 65 amps from thet alt at idle.
I also noticed the battery was also helping because the draw on it was 7 amps.
Remember the ratings on alternators are a cold rating and the minuite they get hot(from high output) that rating drops alot.
It doesn't take but a few minuites to loose their high numbers so my 65 amp measurement is a realistic number.

Teal? You cant fool me, that's blue. j/k

With my lights on, A/C on, and stereo turned all the way up (this is when i just had a single amp), my draw was tested at 80 amps.

Why get a 105 amp Willie? Get the B4C alt bracket and a 140amp alt to be safe. Thats what i'm going to do cause i'm sick of dim lights when sitting in traffic. I got the alt bracket, all i need is the serpintine setup.

Tim or Willie: Either one of you want to make some extra cash? I have a auto dim rear view mirror with a connector that came loose that needs resoldering.

Thanks for the pics Willie. While the top picture looks blue(ish), the bottom one looks teal to me. Good "color blindness" test.

I am surprised not to see you guys at the PROM Board. It would go great with Tim's other hobby. He could make those missles write his name in the sky before it nuked the city..."Missle by Tim....Kaboom"
