I don't know about BUILDING it in, but its fairly easy to at least hardwire the power into the ignition. Reply for details if you want. It'll take care of the annoying wire going into your lighter.

I've thought of hardwiring mine and putting it into the overhead console as well, so yeah, I'd like to see it when it's done.

The gauges fuse would be a good place to tap off of for power.

I just tapped mine into the fuse box. I cut the chord, and put two ends on it. The positive one I plugged into the Battery spot in the fuse box, and I just plugged the ground in where my dash assembly fits. I then ran the chord through the trim, where I just left the detector velcroed to the dash. If you put it in the corner, a cop will never notice it. I know because in our town its illegal to spin the tires and when I get stopped by the cops for it, they always ask me what the beeping is.

Yeah, and when you wire it to the fuse box, hook it up to an ignition wire, so the detector automatically shuts off when you turn off the engine.

got one easier for all of ya--Whistler make a three piece radar that is hidden in your front grill, the other piece hides behind your rearview mirror and the leds can be drilled into your dash or the small box hidden just under you gauges.

K-40 makes one with 3 detectors, on for the fron bumper, the rear and a laser for the front I think. Then the control center is a small piece you can put in your dash and make it look factory. But it is well over $1k.
