well you told me to that the b4c alternator upgrade consists of a 10463338 alternator and a 10118722 bracket for it. I've ordered the parts and am sitting at work looking at them now. (had a friend at work call his son a chevy mechanic to pick them up wholesale for me, still ran 196 for new stuff with no core charges) This alternator looks identical to the one on my old man's 96 roadmaster wagon with a trailering package, and very similar to the police package alternator on my 2000 tahoe police package, I'm just curious with the different case size, am I gonna need a new belt to drop this thing in? The car is dead but jumpable at this point at least, I don't wanna totally disable it if I'll need another belt, it can wait to be worked on.

Thanks for the help so far,

Steve

are we 100% sure about that bracket's part number too? it doesn't seem to line up with the holes on the alternator at all, I'm hoping the bracket doesn't bolt only onto the alternator because its gonna need some dremeling to lineup, and I can't return it if I start cutting. Just lemme know whatcha think

Steve, do you have any pics to put up? It might help with your questions, since you might be one of the first few pioneers to make this mod.

I'm not sure if the belt needs to be changed. I have not done the mod, myself.
