BARO sensor wiring

My SES is on, and spits out code 32, BARO signal too low. i read a chiltons manual, a hanyes manual, and used the ALLDATA system at the garage i work at. All of the refrences say that the sensor has 3 wires, which it does, but the books say that the wires are Grey, Grey/Blk , and Black. on my sensor the wires are Grey, Green, and Black. the books all said to check voltage at terminals 1 and 22 at the ECM connector, which is white/red(1) and black(22). i don't know what the deal is, the voltage IS too low at the ECM, but the colors are wrong and i would like to verify a sensor problem before I spend $45 on a new sensor. What do you think I should do?

You may be looking at the vacuum sensor - its wires are gray, light green, and black. The vacuum sensor has a tube that connects it to manifold vacuum, while the baro sensor does not - the baro sensor measures the atmospheric pressure relative to an internal sealed reference pressure. The baro wires should be gray, black, and gray/red. The gray wire is the sensor power, and should have 5 volts on it, relative to the black wire, which is ground. The gray/red wire is the sensor output - it should be somewhere (about mid way) between 0 & 5 volts. Pin 1 of connector C1 on the ECM is the baro output (gray/red).

Tim, where would the BARO sensor be located, then the sensor i was looking at is next to the fuel pump/fan/etc. relays. is the BARO sensor the one located on the cowl about mid-left? if so, is there a vacuum line or is it just exposed to open air?

Sounds like the correct position. No vacuum connection - exposed to atmospheric pressure.
