Battrey drain?

Battrey drain?
If I take the positive off of the battery and put a ohm meter on the cable and to ground it shoots up. I have had to jump the car every day the battery is dead if it sits for three hours or more. Can the starter cause this?
Thanks, Gary

Do a search on "battery drain" in the electronics section. There are a number of posts that address this problem.

sounds silly, but try removing all the fuses...
have someone watch the ohmmeter and re-install the fuses 1 at a time...

What is the fuse marked ARC it doing most of the drain. OK I have taken the starter off and the wires on the starter are doing this. 1 has a slight ground with all fuses removed. 2 has no ground until I put the ARC fuse back in.
These are orange wires from the starter that run up the block and the next to the intake to the back of the motor.

The 20 ampere ARC fuse supplies continuous 12 volt battery power to the radio (orange wire).
