Dome lamp won't turn off!!
I just got a new headliner put in today and the car's had the doors open a few days while I was swapping the interior. I got in the car at the upholstory shop and the dome lamp won't turn off! I reshut both doors, checked the switches (turning them all the way on and then off) at the left side of steering wheel and at the overhead console. Still its on. The lights under the dash are also lit up. They all stay on when the doors are shut. My alarm (Viper) also beeps an extra beep after it alarms itslef (doesn't that mean that a door is open or maybe the lights are on inside the car...could someone check this?)
What could cause this? I'm thinking it might be one of the push button switches in the door jambs. What do you think?

id definitely say the pin switch at the door.. this happenedto me when i was installing my alarm when the wire detached from the pin connector.. got in there, plugged it back in and everything worked fine.. most likely its something like that, and fortunately thats a simple fix.. pull your kick panels (i think you need to do that, not certain.. its been a while) and the connection should be exposed.. stick it back on, and hopefully you're good to go!

NO Luck fixing it.
Both sides are solidly connected. I know the driver's side works (the key alarm works off of the driver's side door being open) and the passenger side is connected real solid. I guess that leaves 2 things.
1) The switch in the dash
2) The switch in the overhead console
I'm pretty sure that the overhead console cannot turn on any other lights besides the dome and map lights. That means it's the switch in the dash. What a time for this POS to go out!!! I currently have NO interior and it's hard to work on bare metal.
Thanks for the help.

Dad thinks it could be one of the wires grounded from the roof console. This sucks. I have to remove the freakin headliner the upholstory shop just put in. This is starting to **** me off. Anybody know how to remove the roof console?

I FIXED IT!!!
Turns out one of the wires (white) that connects to the roof console was crimped against one of the screws in the ceiling that hooks onto the roof console. I taped that up and moved the wires back under the headliner and wala! Problem solved.
To all those that may find this under a search: Keywords are roof console dome lamp turn off won't remove
If the white wire connecting to the roof console, all of the interior lights (the dome lamp and the two under-dash lights) come on.
To remove the roof console, take out the two screws in the dome lamp assembly. Next just slide the roof console toward the hatch of the car. It unhooks itself and you'll see that instillation is the reverse of removal. Very simple.
