Where is the stock flasher '83 t/a

I am trying to replace my stock turn signal flasher with a heavy duty one (so i can use halogen bulbs) on my '83 t/a. I saw in here that it's in the convenience center and has blue/purple wires (that was for a camaro). Can anyone tell me where it should be on the trans am? I saw nothing that looked like what i had bought (small cylinder w/ two prongs) and nothing w/ just a blue/purple wire. Can anyone give a more precise location?

Welcome to the boards...

I can't speak exactly for your 83 but, I've got an 84 camaro (both car are virtually wire alike for the most part) and, if yours is in the same spot as mine, prepare to be a contortionist.

once you you swing the "convenience panel" down, the flasher relay is up above it clipped to one of the dash supports. My original one was lround & light blue in color. Good luck getting to it
