how much could you learn about tuning an engine for tbi by puttin a carb on for a bit
Just wondering. My 355 for my 69 will be going in soon and it will be carbed until i take it back apart in a year to have the body off and put quarters in and chop the roof line.
anyway, after that i will be going tbi. Can i throw my tbi harness in and hook up an o2. and watch the engine and sorta get a baseline of what the engine likes for fuel at all rpms and such therefor making it easier to program the prom when i do slap on the tbi? How would i guage fuel usage? pressure? i would like something like gallons per minute from the carb so i can figure out what my injectors and such need to be doing. is this worth the thought, or should i just start from scratch when i put on tbi
what do you guys think?

I think a person could learn a helluva lot from running a carb for a while. I had always been a fueliehead, and didn't know one end of a carb from the other until I worked at a hotrod shop for a couple years. Some of the finer points of FI came into focus after that.
Anyway, why am I telling you this?

Not worth doing it twice, save the effort and build a WB so when you get the TBI you can save a couple months worth.
