GM Part # for 1992 LB9/4L60 MEM-CAL
Does anybody know the GM Part # for a 1992 LB9/4L60 MEM-CAL ?????
I searched the archives and only came up with part numbers for 350 MEM-CAL's
I'm trying to buy one so I can have it re programmed to certain specs. Since I am reprogramming it , does it matter if it's the exact chip for my car? There is no physical difference right? So for example, I could buy this MEM-CAL:
http://slponline.com/view_product.as...&SHOWEMAIL=Off
and then program it for my car right?

Just go down to your local GM dealer and tell them you want an eprom for a 1992 LB9 Auto car. Don't accept "I am unable to find it" from the Service Desk - they are just being too lazy. As you are going to reprogram it, the only real concern you have is the proper ESC Circuitry which should be the same for all 90-92 SD LB9 Auto cars.
The minor differences between the different gear ratios is not that important as you should optimize for the spark curve for your car and when you are finished, it probably is going to end up looking quite different from stock, when properly optimized.
FYI, on L98 cars, the eprom is basically the same from 1990-1992. The only difference between the original "AUJP 1350" that came in my car and the replacement "AUJP 1615" is the "Date Sequence", which affects NOTHING. All the code and tables are identical.
There was not the "proliferation" of different Memcals for SD cars as there were for MAF cars. I have found 5 different Bins for 1989 L98 MAF cars - with the most common table being changed being the MAF Scalar Tables. In fact, on some BINs for the 1989 MAF L98 cars, the ONLY difference is the MAF Scalar Table. The most "radically different" BIN is the ARAP - which also seems to have the BEST MAF Scalar Tables from testing I have done on various friends' cars.
