Trying to make my car start faster
I am new at programming proms but what can I change in my prom to make my car start up faster? My car is fully in tune. The problem is my auto start has to make a few attempts to start my car because it takes a while to start, especially in the winter. I was searching the board and I found that some people have had a lot success with changing “crank rpm vs. injector pulse width” tables in tuner cat. I don’t have the table in Tunercat. I have version W of the $6E destination file. Is there anything else I could change to help with starting time?
Here are the tables I see in Tunercat having to do with cranking:
Crank Fuel Pulse Width Vs. Coolant Temp
Crank Fuel Pulse Width Multiplier Vs. TPS
Crank Fuel PW Multiplier Vs. Ref. Pulses (1-16)
Crank Fuel PW Multiplier Vs. Ref. Pulses (>17)
What does Crank Fuel PW Multiplier Vs. Ref. Pulses do?

Crank pulse width mult. vs ref. pulses is the one you want-change the first 1 thru 8 mult. from 0 to about .4; thats a ballpark #, you'll have to fine tune for your combo. If you go up too high, it'll work fine at lower altitudes, but flood on warm restart at higher alt.

There is no “crank rpm vs. injector pulse width” table in TC, that I know of. The 4 tables that you mention are correct. Do what driveit says, and put some values in for the "0's" that are in the first 8 slots. Gm basically held off fuel for 8 distributer pulses, or engine cranks, before giving it fuel. The multiplier gives the injectors SOME fuel, but not the full shot. They did it for emmision reasons, plus you don't want to flood the motor out.
You could also change the actual crank fuel pulse width, at specific coolant temps, that you are having long cranks. Most folks are having sucess with the mult vs ref pulse table.
