need a bit of advice for mild mods tuning

305 engine
2 1/2" headers
3" from headers thru 3" cat
3" back to dual outlet 2 1/2' walker muffler.
2" holley tbi also to be put on
accel hei controle module for distributer.

what would you change, if anything on the chip, and still keep it CA legal.

btw, i dont have access to the car to tune it.

I sold some tbi stuff to a guy on ebay and he then asked me to update his chips after i told him i had the stuff. he sent em to me. so now i have two chips that he wants me to update to his combo. I thought he had an 8746 so i was just gona give him one of my bins but... turns out he has a 7747.

any help would be appreciated.

since my car is essentially stock, and therfore, i have minute experience in tuning, the only thing i was thinking of doing for this guy would be to change the pulse width and raise the tcc lockup a bit. maybe advance timing a tiny bit?

what are you guys thinking.

tried to search. no results. new board thing??

you pretty much need the car to tune for max perf.
if you did have it I would if i were you, play with the wot timing curve and how quickly it all comes in and mess with the spark retard decay rates and whatnot. I think Lo3s are a little rich from the factory to begin with at wot so id leave wot alone

None without running a C.A.R.B. certifiecation test.

Tell him to drive it over, so you can.

Sounds like you were assuming, not a good thing to do. You might be in for lots of trouble getting in the middle of something like this.

any help would be appreciated.

Your way over your head, and just looking to do what Hypertech and the likes of them do. Bail, now.

Thanks grumpy. you are right. i dont really know how to tune a car that isnt in front of me, and i dont have any real experience in tuning efi.

i had not really expected this guy to send me his chips, but now that i have them i thought i could at least do something for him.

i think i was being a little too optimistic.

his car is in CA, im in NE. doesnt work too well, actually i told him to go to find a local shop to tune it for him, he was like. no, im sure you could do something...

i think im gona just send him the chips back and say,
"sorry, i really dont think there is much i can do for you. thought i could, but i cant"

grumpy, did you get my personal message about the injector cone angle? thanks.
