Tunerpro rt v5, APU1, lc1WBO2, and 730 ECM

I Cannot get the wideband output to log through my APU1 Channel input. I've searched high and low, and tried the guess and check method for weeks. I am sure my parameters are not correct. I can confirm I have 5volts engine off, 2.65 volts running, and no information coming in. I'm desperate.

I need screen shots of every parameter that needs to be set to make this thing work.

Nope, I really need someone to hold my hand through this. I've attached screen shots to help someone tell me what I'm doing wrong.

With the attached, I can't eve get the APU1 and Tunerpro to connect

Surely someone else has had this issue.

Re: Tunerpro rt v5, APU1, lc1WBO2, and 730 ECM

First try to connect in passthrough mode (like a std cable), Horizontal switch towards the outside of the AP unit (not towards the middle)
If you can't get that then AP mode won't work either.
Once you can see data with it working like a std cable, do this.

1.) Horizontal Switch inward (AP mode), USB cable connected to the AP.
2.) Start TP V5
3.) Verify the "Preferences" in TP are set to use the AutoProm in the DAQ tab.
4.) Plug in the USB to the Laptop
5.) You should here it find the device and indicate it is found in the lower status bar in TP. If not, goto "Tool" and do "Initialize Emulation Hardware" and it should appear as stated above.
6.) Save the attachment I included in the post.
7.) Rename the file extension from "ZIP" to "ADX" and save. (Its not a zip file)
8.) Load this ADX file from the Aquisition menu. (I know this works except on Vettes)
9.) Post your results and we'll get things working properly.

Re: Tunerpro rt v5, APU1, lc1WBO2, and 730 ECM

So, I have access to the ALDL data stream using the file you posted (i.e. tps, map, volts, etc..) but still no wideband. Actually, I have a value, but it is a static value of around 11.5 AFR even with the engine not running.

I tried Channels 1,2, and 3, but no luck.

It would help if I knew which input you were using to eliminate that as a variable.

It may bear mentioning that I have an older version of the APU1 with the firewire APADC board and the vertical and horizontal switch setup.

Also, sorry for the belated response. We've had an illness in the family that has made getting to this all the more difficult.

Re: Tunerpro rt v5, APU1, lc1WBO2, and 730 ECM

The wideband controller needs to be set up first so the output is AFR and volts from 0 to 5. It sounds like the 11.5 is reading Lambda/1 volt...Then check it powered up with Digital Volt meter to see what it is reading. Right now I'm guessing 1 volt, should be five volts key on not running. Depending on your WB specs of course. Sounds like you had it right but did not set up the WB controller.

If the ADX is set up with all three channels you may get a reading from each slot on the APDC board but when you get the right one it will read correctly and the others may still get readings.

Re: Tunerpro rt v5, APU1, lc1WBO2, and 730 ECM

I have already set up the LC1 controller. As mentioned above I have already confirmed voltage with a voltmeter while running. 1.95-2.65 Volts. The information seems to be there, it just isn't getting in.

I also tried all three channels without much luck. Is there anyway to troubleshoot this APU1-APDC Board connection?

Thanks!

I tried but that adx is password protected so no there's no way to see where the info is going...

remember that is an older file, my new one will be out soon with some VE tools to go with it.

You are running the same APU1 I have so the issue must be in the grounding or in the firewire cable if you can read the voltage off the terminals. I was thinking about the terminator plug on the end of the LC1 cable. forget if it needs to be in or not, but if you have an output that shouldn't be the problem.
I had issues with a cable a while back so try another one, luckily those are inexpensive. Also try another USB cable too.

Re: Tunerpro rt v5, APU1, lc1WBO2, and 730 ECM

Got it working last night around 11. The problem could have been a number of things that I changed:

1. Ground reference voltage for the lc1. The y adapter I was using to provide power was doing so at a rapid, strange intermittent interval. I removed the adapter and plugged the lc1 into a dedicated circuit.

2. Selected bit 69 which corresponds to the labeled channel 1 on the APDC board. I will post screen shots this weekend.

I just tried it once, so I'm not positive I'm out of the woods yet, but all signs look positive

D'oh!

I've got the newer AutoProm.

Got your ADX to work on bench as is for all three channels in dashboards, but can only get 2 in datalog. Simalar issue I'm having with 160 Baud is all three channels work in dashboard but NONE come through in data log? Mark Mansuar at TunerPro and Moates are working on it.

Adding extra packets to reply just messes up data although a guy in Austrailia with a Holden says he has added extra packets in reply and worked.
