SLC-dyi2 wideband kit
I purchased this kit a few days ago, since it hasnt arrived yet i was doing some research on the installation of it.
I have seen posts where people had to solder the whole board(diodes, resistors, SRC's, stuff like that)
The site said this about the kit"The only assembly required is the construction of cables and mounting the circuit board into the case" When they say mounting of the ckt board on the case..that means that all the soldering is done correct?? Its not that I can solder all that stuff up, but that would take another few hours and praying that my soldering job is good.
Thanks for any info. It should be here in another day or two but am eager to know if I have to do all that soldering! Im already stressing out about tuning a turboed car(I have dreams about spark knock)

Re: SLC-dyi2 wideband kit
I have an SLC-DIY, but it is a version 1 type not the newer v2. V1 had to be soldered, but its all thru-hole components (easy).
It sounds like v2 is probably pre-soldered surface mount components which probably reduces the cost per unit even taking into consideration the additional cost of the maker having to have them assembled (his board maker probably offers wave soldering for a small fee).
the website clearly states that the components are already soldered, you will just have to solder the wires to the board. Just use a fine tip iron and you'll be fine.
I have yet to run mine (ive been very busy) but should get a chance soon.
I suspect that the SLC will be awesome, and if it proves to be so then I plan to get a few of the OEM versions for 65 bucks each for permanent installation in a few of my cars.

Re: SLC-dyi2 wideband kit
Which voltage requirement? I had assumed it functioned basically the same as the regular SLC but without the programable output. So I'd just have to power it with 12v and settle for a default linear 0-5v output. Did I overlook something? I'll admit it has been a long time since I looked at them.
