Wideband datalogger vs Autoprom/TunerPro
First off, a huge thank you to the ThirdGen creators and all of the contributors. You've been an immense help in my learning of DFI tuning. I've just started tuning and realize I need a wideband setup to get the most out of my mods. I'm tuning a 91 K5 350 w/7747 ecu, dart heads, cam, bored TBI & intake, Thorley headers w/Gibson 3", 21 PSI FP.
My question is about wideband data logging. How beneficial is it to use a stand alone hi-speed data logger with sensor inputs, like the Zt-2, vs. using TunerPro via one of the Autoprom analog inputs? Can I ultimately get the same results using slow 7747 ALDL/wideband data in TunerPro, or will a hi-speed data logger allow more accurate/finer tuning?
Opinions/lessons learned/expert input is greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Re: Wideband datalogger vs Autoprom/TunerPro
If you have the AutoProm already then use it. It's much easier to have your wideband data in same log then a differant log. I use AutoProm with my wideband this way on a 1227747 and others.
Is the data faster from other software? Probably, I don't know, but you still can't tune faster data if the ECM only goes so fast anyway? Haveing 2 logs is still a pain compared to one.
Here's another choice for wide band O2 sensor and controller which is known to work great. I've never used or seen the one you listed...

Re: Wideband datalogger vs Autoprom/TunerPro
I've looked at the TT-1 and if I go the Autoprom route it will probably be the one I purchase. Do you know of any posts that describe how to set up Tunerpro for the Autoprom/wideband input for the 7747 data stream?
I've seen that the data sample rate of some wideband data loggers is as high as 80 times/sec. I agree that using 2 different logs would be more difficult, but would that much data lead to a more dialed in tune? Or for my K5 350 will it even make much of a difference? Probably not, but I've never done this so I don't know.
Thanks for the info.

It's likely that I would have bailed on the7747, and it's 160baud ALDL rate.
However,
RBobs daughter board has high-speed comm. to go along with the other top-notch features.

EagleMark, thanks for the link to your files. I'll check them out this weekend and see if I can figure out the ADX changes.
Six_Shooter, I haven't seen the SLC_DIY. I'll take a look and compare to the others.
xch3no2, if I had known what I know now I probably would have changed ECUs...

No changes needed in those files! Already have AutoProm channel 1,2,3 in it! Could use any of them for any wideband wired into AutoProm

Or the other option is to upgrade your ECM to a PCM ('7427) and slip the WBO2 into the ALDL datastream. It works pretty sweet, and is about 6 times the sample rate as 160baud.

I decided to go with the Innovate MTX-L AFR gauge/controller. I should have it installed within the next week or so. I might have AutoProm/Tunerpro questions for you EagleMark.
