You will also need to load a proper ADX for your application so that Tuner Pro can communicate with the vehicle.
Have you any feedback on Ostrich 2.0? I can't believe it took me this long to get up on this. I've been customizing electrical parameters in Servo and VFD drives for ages and all ways knew the tech was there just didn't make the time.

I love my Ostrich 2.0s

I have a two, one that stays in my Datsun, and one that I use for tuning other cars.

Re: ALDL Serial Cable help (for TunerPro )

So if I got this right I should be able to use the Ostrich 2.0 to tune save and burn?

I like the idea of two maybe even 4 with 3 permanent and 1 for tuning others eventually.

Yes, you can use the Ostrich to tune, then save that bin file and program it to an EPROM if you like. You can also just leave the Ostrich in place and run the ECM from it.

ADS files are used for Tuner Pro RT V4, ADX files are using for Tuner Pro RT V5. It is possible to import an ADS file and create an ADX file. There are a LOT of ADX files in the downloads section at the tuner pro site, so you should be able to find one.

I don't understand about your luck running out...

Re: ALDL Serial Cable help (for TunerPro )

I made the cable since I had the skill and all but the transistor as the ALDL option 2 print. Finally found the right files and imported them, got a connection but it was pulsing and even just looking at the TPS signal. Then I lost it all together. Thinking I need a different cable for it to work 8192 baud rate and I used pins A&M using the files for 1227730. Will break into the cable and make sure nothing went wrong there as well and was looking at the need for an external 12v supply and the other diagram posted by RBBob I think using capacitors. If I was sure which one would work I'd just go straight to the Moates but I'd like to verify I have the right connections first. What about the 2 transistor circuit you mentioned? RBob mentioned it as well and I'm searching for a diagram with no luck. Certain now I need one or the other for 8192 baud

Got it from GTA324 off to my favorite shack. I keep missing good stuff in these threads. Guess I'm just to jacked up about it. I've been hacking industrial computers for years and now I'm finally doing it when and on something just for my own pleasure. Its a cool feeling. Natural high. Thanks to all of you guys for more support than I have ever enjoyed!

Re: ALDL Serial Cable help (for TunerPro )

OK got the black box made. Imported ecu and xds. Have a connection with no errors and no data as well. OK I don't have a bin. Any suggestions which I should use from TunerPro?
When I use the aldl pin b to initialize 8192 baud should I then remove it? Heard that somewhere. Using TunerPro Rt.

Re: ALDL Serial Cable help (for TunerPro )

OK I'm ant the end of my patience here. I think I've got all the issues straight so please review this and let me know.

My PC Toughbook XP has a serial just so I didn't have to deal with USB issues of com compatibility. I have built numerous serial interfaces for different types of OS. Figured this couldn't be that bad.

My test car. 91 Z28 TPI speed density 12277330 series.

Two transistor interface cable made per GTA324 profile directions. Do not use the resistor to pinB because its speed density. Should not have XP OS problems using TunerPro RT v5

TunerPro Rt. XTF imported from TP website ecu 1227730. XDX imported from TP website 1227730 XDS. Data Aquisition set to use plug in Tuner Pro data aquisition interface standard serial.

Issue. Connecting but never connects. Do I need a to set a connection command in ADX just noticed there is none.

The XDF will have no affect on Data Aquisition.

The ADX is what needs to be proper, what file are you using?

The generic "1227730.ads" doesn't work well for me, try to find one named specifically for the mask you are using. If it is a speed density F-body, it should $8D.

Re: ALDL Serial Cable help (for TunerPro )

$8D mask which is Super_8dm2.ecu which I imported to .xdf and $8D mask which is 1227730_8D.ads which I imported to .adx
from http://www.tunerpro.net/download
When I test for valid interface it says the cable is there and functioning. When I connect it says connecting but never does.

Wouldn't just about any of the rs232 to ttl converters using the max232 work? Something like this
http://cgi.ebay.com/RS232-TTL-Conver...#ht_5112wt_905
I have used and think I still have one hidden somewhere in a box I remember I prefered the ones with the LED's so you could see the connectivity.

Would need to modify it as the TTL side is bi-directional on one wire. See the schematic in post #7 at this link:
