Anyone ever see a PROM ID "1FAD"?
Trying to figure out what this car I'm driving has. It's got a lot of weird behavior. Mechanically sound, but a crappy idle and the upshift light comes on when I'm cruising down the freeway in top gear.
Whoever owned it before me put in a "tpis stage 3 chip". It comes complete with a happy face sticker inside the memcal cover.
I've got an APU1 and was able to successfully hook it up to TunerPro using the 1227165-160 ADS. That's how I got the PROM ID.
I tried a number of the other ADSes and couldn't get any meaningful data. (was using TPS as a baseline)
Any idea what I've got?
(I plan on eventually trying out the ARAP bin, as it seems to have quite a bit of support)

Can't help with the Prom ID.
Although the shift light coming on on the highway sounds like a calibration for an AUTO. It is locking up the TCC which uses the same output pin as the shift light on the ECM. The shift light being used for a stick tranny.
RBob.
