Need Help with $8D '7730 Fan Disable MPH
Need help from an Assembly code guru. Every definition file I've seen for the 8D mask has 2 constants defined as follows (am currently using super_8dm2.xdf for TunerPro V5):
- Fan 1 Disable Vehicle Speed (@ 0x374)
- Fan 2 Disable Vehicle Speed (@ 0x375)
These parameters don't appear to turn off fans at or above the specified MPH. I have dual fans, and they both work perfectly (on and off) under ECM control based on temperature. But they don't turn off based on the above settings. I know this becuase have leds showing when each fan is on.
I’m no Assembly programmer, but looking at the ANHT hack, the comments define these as Enable speeds, not disable, at L8374 and L8375 respectively:
L8374: FCB 35 ; 35 MPH FAN 1 ENABLE SPD
L8375: FCB 50 ; 50 MPH FAN 2 ENABLE SPD
I’d like to disable my fans based on MPH. Could someone familiar with the code please shed some light on what it's doing or not doing with these items.
Thanks!

They are for when the A/C is active. With the CTS controlled fan thresholds there is no MPH based parameters to turn the fans off.

Re: Need Help with $8D '7730 Fan Disable MPH
- So are they really "Enable" parameters as shown in the hack and not "Disable" parameters as shown in the 8D definitions?
- IF "Enable" parameters, would appreciate you or anyone else elaborating on how the entered MPH values are used when AC is on (ie - what do they do)?

Re: Need Help with $8D '7730 Fan Disable MPH
The fan is "Disabled" from being turned on by the A/C control if Greater Than the speed set at 8374.
That doesn't mean the fan is turned off, just that the A/C control of the fan is Disabled above that speed. CTS could still turn it on if needed.
Basically if the A/C is on and you are below that speed, the fan will be turned on. (needs air across the condenser)
