$0D PCM to control 4t65e transaxle ?

I am helping my dad with a 3800sc conversion on a corvair in a few months and we are trying to figure out how to use a 4t65eHD transaxle. I have read on this forum that the 4l80e can be controlled with a 4l60e mask. That makes me wonder if the 4T65E could be treated similarly. I dont want to mess with an OBDII PCM to do this, so an OBD1 truck PCM seems the logical answer, especially since that is what is being used for two other conversions I'm doing right now.

I have a pinout for the plug, could it be as simple as wiring it as a 4l60e and then possibly adjusting the tables?

Thanks for any help, I know its far from a 3rd gen question, but this IS the best and most diverse knowledge base I have found so far.

i planned on doing more or less the same process, though potentially with a 4T80E, and everything i found seemed to imply that it would work, just that the stock 4L60E settings would need adjusting.

Re: $0D PCM to control 4t65e transaxle ?

I just found a buildlog of a Buick Century that a guy used a truck PCM from a diesel to control a 4T65E as a standalone trans controller. I would assume that a gas version like a $0D would probably be better, especially since we can so easily adjust all the tables now.

The corvair will have a 3800SC engine with the supercharger replaced by a Holset HE351VE VGT turbo. We have decided not to use the 4T80E due to the weight, larger size, and starter location (not positive on the last one). Supposedly the 4T65E-HD is fairly tough, but a whole lot lighter and more compact, and of course requires no mods to mount the 3800.

Here's that Buick;

I dl'd the xdf for the $DF mask, which is basically an upgraded '727 computer that controls the 4T60E with a v6. Unfortunatly the XDF does not have any e-trans stuff, other than the TCC. The author is listed as "Saar" I assume thats you. Did you ever make an e-trans version? Or do you have a hac for this mask?

My dad called tonight, and said he got a killer deal on a supposedly good 4T60E, he's picking it up tomorrow. I tried to steer him towards a 4t80e (after reading more on it, it looked a lot better) but we are using the 4t60e.

If I could do the engine and trans with a $0D setup that would be perfect.

i didn't make one, but i did modify a full version made by Sil of 60V6 to convert everything from *C to *F, also fixed a few errors in it, i believe it will only work in TP V5 though.

that's the newest version.... i should upload that to mark now that i think about it...

there is no "engine size" constant in $DF, that's done through the BPW vs EGR% table.
