Moates Extreme ALDL Problem (USB Issue)
Ok this has got me stumpped and I don't really know how to explain this but I'll try my best...
Here is my setup...
Tuner Pro V4 or V5 (Both the same)
LEAD A = ALDL
LEAD B = Ostrich II
When BOTH A & B are plugged into the Laptop everything seems to be OK but I do get a few ALDL errors.
With just lead A plugged in. I press connect in TP but it never does. (Windows see's the device no problem)
Here is where is gets screwy -
While its trying to connect if I simply "touch" lead B against my second USB socket it will connect. Please note I said touch... its not plugged it, its simply a metal on metal contact of the outter of the USB plug.
Any ideas?? I've only noticed this since trying to get Tunerpro V5 to work... I have probably always plugged them both in before opening tuner pro in the past.

Re: Moates Extreme ALDL Problem (USB Issue)
I would check that the ground pin in the ALDL is making good contact and is connecting to a good ground.
The Ostrich may be using additional grounding through the chip interface and allowing it to work.
Only thing that comes to mind why it would do that.

Great input - I wondered if something like that might be an issue, or even if it could effect it at all. Will check it ASAP

Ground to Pin A on the ALDL is good, and the contact looks ok between the socket and plug.
Back to the drawing board.
